The Premier Control

Sale price$11.95

In his first release with Ellusionist, Lloyd Barnes showcases his aesthetics-first take on magic with the perfect, invisible single card control.

In over twenty minutes of explanation, Lloyd discusses the psychology, nuances and framing of this streamlined control that ensures it flies under the radar in every performance.

A single card is chosen from a spread, returned to the deck, and the deck squared. Without any cover, funny angles or finger-crippling manoeuvres, the card has been controlled to the top of the deck.

Featuring two methods of control - a 'graceful' and 'heckler' version - Lloyd Barnes proves that when aesthetics are at the forefront of methodology, all that remains is the only top control you’ll ever need. And it’s as slick as you can get.

Note: Although Lloyd provides extensive crediting of the masters who came before him in the download, just prior to release we were made aware of a case of independent creation of this effect, which neither Lloyd nor Ellusionist had previously seen. Therefore, we would also like to include Hanna van Veen among those who deserve credit for the creation of this work.

Well worth it

Even if you figured out the mechanics from the trailer, the tutoring and subtleties in these videos are well worth the money!

What I like the most is this move can eliminate Dbl under cuts and passes, I will be using this move in a few tricks

Summary

I thank Lloyd Barnes for releasing this skill to add to our toolbox of sleights! It takes a tremendous amount of practice and certain angles to make it look smooth and legit. That being said, this tool can be incorporated into a lot of tricks where it is beneficial to have a selected card be kept on top without appearing to the audience that it stayed on top all this time.

Although it is easy to see how this works in the trailer, the great tutoring in the dl on the perfect technique is key to performing this correctly. I am very tall, so although most controls are hard for me to cover up if I'm standing, this effect works especially to my benefit. Although it is difficult togged used to if you have longer fingers, it is a very good effect and easy to get started on. I struggle with the second force that you should use if being burned, but it works incredibly well when done correctly and goes completely unnoticed from all angles. I would highly recommend this effect.

Summary

Clean, deceptive, amazing! The two methods that are taught are both clever and easy to perfect. The method for when spectators are burning your hands is so convincing I trick myself when I do it, it's that good! Much more convincing and easier to do than passes! I highly recommend it! It's only $7, what are you waiting for?

Summary

I have read in forums how from the trailer it is angle sensitive... Well they're correct BUT TO AN EXTENT. Lloyd goes over 2 techniques, one surrounded and one where sppectators are infront. Simple. Quick. Easy. I use the surrounded one a lot now because I find it quite simple and knowing you did something so obvious infront of spectators without their knowledge is a great feeling
