"This is a stunning effect should it be done well. The spectator is shown a deck of cards, face up, and asked to select any one of them, and then tell the magician. The Magician takes out the named card, as well as the other 3 cards of the named value, and hands them to the spectator to shuffle, mix, and examine the backs to check for marks as long as they want. When they are finished, the place them all face down in a row, and then the spectator is asked to point to any card, changing their mind as often as they want. One they decide on a card, it is turned over to reveal that it is THEIR card, and when the other 3 cards are turned over, they are BLANK. The deck is then shown to the spectator to be blank as well. They named the only card in the entire deck, that had a face.

In all, this effect is great. Apparently Dean Dill was frying magicians with this one for a while before he was convinced to sell it to us ordinary folk. The Blizzard (aptly named for the "Blizzard" of blank cards), trick is simple, easy to do, and only has ONE move for the magician to master. The move takes no skill at all. HOWEVER, it does take incredible nerve. This is one of those tricks that make you smack your forehead, and ask yourself why you didn't think of it instead. Dean beat you to it.

The gimmick is well constructed, and because of it's nature, the first few times you do this trick, your heart will be beating like a racehorse, afraid that you will get caught. I've done this perhaps around 100 times now, and I've only ever been close to getting caught once. This trick is worth it. The book that comes with this, is well laid out, and is easy to read. There was one small glitch in the book that the local dealer who sold this to me helped me out with. It was just an aid to misdirect them so that the crucial move could be hidden that much easier. That addition alone takes a tremendous weight off of your shoulders. (If you e-mail me I will let you know what it is). It can be used with any deck bicycle cards, as long as the color matched your gimmick. Mine came in blue, though I would have preferred red, as that is my color preference. 

This is a once per person effect. DO NOT repeat this for the same person within a week, maybe even longer. It resets fast, with about 10 seconds of work, so you don't have to run away if you are working for a group, or in a crowded setting.

I recommend this, mostly because, in doing the effect, a person presentation becomes important. It almost helps train you to be a performer, and to aid your attempts at misdirection. Doing this trick will also improve your confidence levels tenfold. It did me, as I thought to myself, "If I can get away with this, I can get away with anything!" That alone relaxed me a lot in performing other tricks for people. It's not cheap, but it is worth it, and is definitely the type of trick where people will remember you. "
