"I noticed that Ellusionist will be selling the Porper Card Clip to coincide with the launch of the Black Tiger Deck. That, folks, is great news. First of all, Joe Porper is the King of Craftsmanship when it comes to the manufacturing of magic devices and accessories. If you've read the March 2004 issue of Genii Magazine, you'll know what I'm talking about.
I have 3 Card Clips purchased from a good friend who bought them directly from Joe Porper himself, and at the time, they were in limited production. I also have the Card Guard, which pales in comparison. Granted, the Porper Clip is probably three times more expensive than the Card Guard, but it is more than worth it's price in the money you will save from going through numerous decks.
The Card Clip is made out of extruded aluminum with a black anodized finish. It is a beautiful piece of art and functions even better than it looks. How it works is that the Clip holds a standard deck of poker-sized cards and distributes pressure evenly across the front and back surfaces of your cards. The cards are kept in it's original box and the box is slid into the clip for a perfect fit. It's able to achieve this even pressure because of the "spring" design in its spine. As a result, you will have the crisp, just-opened feel of new cards, and the ability to avoid warping your cards. If you live in an area where humidity is high or carry your cards in your pocket all the time, then you will directly benefit from this device. I've traveled to many humid places (heck, just getting on and off a plane will warp your cards!) and the Card Clip will keep my cards feeling brand spanking new. The Card Clip will not enable your cards to last forever (we all know they will eventually wear out with constant use), but in my experiences, my regular bikes have lasted 2~3 months longer on average (and that's w/ almost daily handling - shuffles, springs, flourishes, pop-ups, etc.).
And did I mention that they are a thing of beauty? I had two of mine engraved and etched when I was in Hong Kong - one with a Dragon (my year on the Chinese calendar) and the other with a Tiger (hey, perfect for the Black Tiger Deck!). I left one untouched, which houses my prized possession - Jerry's Nugget deck w/ Jeff Sheridan's autograph on the Ace of Spades. I always keep one Clip on me with regular rider back bikes, and will rotate the other one either for use on a special occasion with a special deck (black tacticals), or keep a trick deck in it (ID, B'wave). These Clips are very durable yet almost feather-light. I hardly notice it's weight in my pocket.
This is perfect for the magician, flourisher, and even poker player. Stop using those bulky encyclopedia books to flatten your cards and invest in a Porper Card Clip when it hits the E store. I know I'm gonna need more when I get my Tiger Decks.

"I love these so much, I originally had the stainless steel one which I paid around 30 dollars for. I felt ripped off when I met another magician who went to the US and bought one from Joe Porper ( supposedly) and also was insanely jealous. Just holding it was a dream, so light, so well made and when I had my cards in there for 5 minutes, they felt so much better. The other steel clip actually wrecked my cards. So, saving up huge amounts of cash, I managed to buy a lot for Christmas from E. Number one on my list was the Porper card clip, in fact I bought 2, the other is still in its packaging. It is by far the best, I recommend any card magician new or old to invest in one. You will not be disappointed."

"This is just something that happened to me yesterday and thought you might like to know because it acts quite well as a review for Ghost Decks and the Joe Porper Card Clip.
Yesterday I was sat down watching the 6 Nations playing with my ghost deck when I had to help my mum out in the garden. I put the deck into my Card Clip and went outside for a few hours. When I came back inside I realized I didn't have my deck with me. So, naturally, I went back outside to look for it, but with no luck. So, feeling disappointed I retreated for the night.
This morning, after a wet and very rainy night, I went out looking again, and sure enough I found the deck in the middle of our field completely exposed to the harsh elements. I then proceeded to sit in front of the fire dry out each and every card. They were by now incredibly warped and completely unusable. So, in a vain hope of recovering my deck, I placed in the card clip for about 20 minutes, and to my amazement, they were like brand new! They still handled like silk and my fans were still perfect circles with the cards as evenly placed as possible!
So, even if your ghost deck is left to the elements, she'll keep on handling like a dream, just goes to show the craftsmanship put into them.
