"Wow, I was wasn't sure whether I should buy this effect or not but I'm very glad I did. Just imagine doing the Card Warp but with just the card and your fingers. NO COVER CARD. The problem I had with the regular Voodoo Zone trick is that some spectators like to grab at the cover card to really see what's happening and the trick gets ruined. Warp one is like a breath of fresh air compared to the original. Yes it's harder to do, yes it takes more practice BUT it is all worth it.

Effect: (9.9/10)-- You take a NORMAL playing card fold it in half. You then wave your fingers over it and it turns inside out a little at a time visually. There are three revelations. The first is warping the card half way, the second is warping the card all the way and the third is warping it half way fast and doing the traditional "tear" which is in the original Card Warp trick. Teaching: (9/10)-- The DVD is excellent quality. It's a "Paul Harris Presents" DVD so it is very similar to the TORN DVD. David teaches the effect very well and goes over every detail. What I really liked about the DVD is that it has the normal teaching, an over-the-shoulder view, and a slow motion view. The DVD also has several extras including Warp One with a business card, ways to lead into the effect, and an alternate ending to the effect which I have not looked at yet.

Difficulty: intermediate -- I would consider the original Card Warp trick a beginner trick since it is pretty much self working. Warp One does require slight of hand and a lot of practice. It is not too hard though. In my opinion, it is much easier to do than TORN.

Another great thing about Warp One is that it is almost impromptu. There is a setup but it takes 2-3 seconds. You can just take a card from a deck, or a business card, do the super fast setup and perform Warp One. I strongly recommend this effect. It's one of the most visual effects I have ever seen. "

Overall: The DVD reeks quality. It's around 20 minutes long I think, and everything you need to know is taken care of.

I rarely purchase new material, but this is an effect that struck me after watching the preview. It's just beautiful. The way the card warps over, the smoothness, the presentation, the magic created. Simply a treat to the eyes. I own the HTDSM set, and I'm familiar with the CardWarp in there. It was one of the most visual effects i've known. If you liked that, WarpOne takes Card Warps to another dimension, *totally* and I'm not kidding.

Teaching: David rules in teaching. He is such a calm guy and the way he teaches you seems like he is just sitting right next to you. Supercool dude. I'm glad to have met you in a few threads, MrJenkins :) I would love to jam with you sometime.

The teaching as I said, is wonderful, the angles simply spectacular. You get to know *all* the nuances of this effect. From every direction you need to know. The thing that I liked about this is that, once David goes over the basic routine in detail, you get a view of just his hands alone. Yes, just his hands alone, doing Warpone. It real sweet, great way to learn. For those of you guys who complained about having a performer's view of stuff, here it is. You can't go wrong here.

Difficulty: Warp One is not the most difficult effect to learn, but let me compare it like this. Most of you know about the Dream Of Aces, once again not the most difficult effect in the world. But... But... But... What's the *but* for? It's what happens after you learn the moves and the effect and the handling. This is where Warp One downright owns. Its the beauty of presenting this effect that looks like your creating *real magic*. It happens so close to your spec, and so visual. You could really cry. Ok, thats taking the emotions a bit far, but you understand what I'm trying to say here.

Overall, you don't really need to know any *sleights* of card magic. But it would help if you are comfortable with handling cards. It requires that extra bit of finesse. But doesn't take long if you put in the practice before the mirror.

Extras: You get an alternate presentation which gets the spectator involved, its a nice touch. And you get to learn the restoration. Though I would not find this necessary, if you have to restore it, you have it here how to do it :) Finally, some tips on using business cards for Warpone.

"I just received warp one as a late Christmas gift. I also own Revolution, Ninja, Army of 52, Airtight, De' Ring, and Mercury. Warp one, in my opinion, is definitely the best effect I've ever purchased from Ellusionist. This will quickly become a staple in my street closeup routine. Here's my review.

Effect: Card warp without the cover card. This trick is done with a single card, folded in half and held at the tips of the fingers. With a fluid waving motion, the card is half face-out and half face-in. Another quick motion turns it back to face-in. Once again the card is warped to half-and-half, then to face-out. It is warped one last time to half-and-half, then torn and left hanging by a corner to show the two pieces facing different directions. Watch the preview. It's mind-blowing.

Technique: Genius. Not even kidding. The handling is simple, fluid, and invisible. There is one problem with one angle on one move, but it's easy to cover. Also, it's something the spectator would never think of. They'll be looking for extra cards or pieces of cards, but there aren't any. There really is just one card.

Teaching: Jenkins does an excellent job of explaining the trick in a step-by-step, in-depth fashion. Nothing is left out. Then again, as simple as this trick is, it's not really that hard to explain. But Jenkins definitely gets all the finer points of the trick into this dvd. I had no questions about handling. It just takes practice.

The dvd: The package is very well put-together, and the music is good, too. Not much to say here, as the main point is really the effect.

If you like card magic, give this effect a shot. It's extremely visual and will definitely leave your audience slack-jawed. "
