Absinthe - the Green Fairy of spirits, has long been associated with the bohemian lifestyle, with famous drinkers including Picasso, Van Gogh, Hemingway, Oscar Wilde and Toulouse-Lautrec.

These cards embody the allure of the emerald drink, the hallucinogenic haze, sugar crystals in the night, the Ace of Spades modelled after the filigree of the absinthe spoon. With its heavy embossing and text that pokes fun at itself, even the box appears to have had a few drinks.

Originally printed for the Prohibition Box Set, the Absinthe deck has been tweaked slightly to keep the integrity in design, whilst also allowing you to own more than one deck, without having to buy multiple Prohibition sets. This deck is too cool for display, it has to be shown off...

Love the design, love the feel of them - first pack of 'proper' playing cards and can notice the difference instantly. Great deck, would highly recommend

I ordered these cards about a month ago, and I am very impressed. They are high quality, smooth, and great for games.

The Absinthe artwork is great and the cards handle well but the cut is absolutely atrocious.

The top/bottom back border is shifted by as much as 3mm on most of the cards. And on the faces – the kings for example – the smoke bleeds to the edge on one side, then the other side there is about 2-3mm of blank space above the smoke. Terrible. I wont even be using these cards for card games let alone performances.

As a side note, this is not the first Ellusionist deck that has had this issue. I have also seen misalignments on an Infinity deck, the white Bicycle Ghost, and also on the Fathom deck. I will be leaving reviews on those decks as well.

You guys have some wonderful looking cards, but y'all really need to step up your game on quality control. Because of this reason, and this reason alone, I am very hesitant on making future deck purchases from Ellusionist.
